Mullah Abdulkuddüs Yalçın, spoke to Ilke News Agency about Mullah Muhammed Said Varol, who died in a traffic accident on June 12, 2018, elaborating his scientific ability, his loyalty to the Islamic cause, his exemplary character as well as the difficult experiences that he went through in his life.

Mullah Abdulkuddus Yalcin, one of the friends of Mullah Mohammed Said Varol, also told of Varol's struggle and his upright nature in the face of the problems.

“I met him in the Bismil district of Diyarbakır province. I was an imam in a mosque at the time. Mullah Said used to come to Bismil and visit me frequently. He was one of the rare figures who devoted himself to the cause of Islam. The Holy Qur'an states, ‘Among the believers are men true to what they promised Allah. Among them is he who has fulfilled his vow’. Varol is one of the people that he can be included in the scope of this verse of Holy Qur’an. He was one of the few people who devoted himself to the cause of Islam and sacrificed himself for the salvation of the children of this Ummah,” Yalçın said.

“He was a true believer”

“It is altruism that makes a man true believer, and Mullah Said Varol was a true believer who sacrificed his life for Islamic cause. He was a rare person who forsook his family, his children, his wife, his wealth for Islamic activities. He, above all, strived for the advancement of Islam and for the religion of Islam to gain a place in the society. He didn’t stay at his home for weeks because of his Islamic activities. During those times, he constantly met Muslims and his comrades, consulting with them in order to figure out the ways to better serve Islam,” he added.

“We saw perseverance and determination in Mullah Said Varol”

Yalçın went on to say: “One of the characteristics of a true believer is that he has perseverance and determination. We could really see these characteristics clearly in Mullah Muhammed Said. I mean, we saw a lot of perseverance and determination in him. Although leftist ideas were more popular at the time and leftist groups were powerful in the region, he had no fear of them.”

Noting that Mullah Said used to act according to his knowledge, Yalçın stated: Mullah Muhammad Said Varol was also a scholar. In the country, there are many people studying in Islamic knowledgein Madrasahs. But a few people take advantage from their knowledge. Mullah Muhammad Said was a person who learned his knowledge well, profited and applied it to his life. He transferred his knowledge to his life and helped his friends to benefit from it. He gave diploma to many people by teaching Islamic Knowledge to his friends who stayed with him during his stay in prison, and he trained high quality personalities.”

“During Islamic activities, we were together in both prison and the Bismil district. Mullah Said performed numerous services for the spread of Islam in these lands. "Mullah Muhammad said had a really great influence on young people and his relationship with people in particular was very good. He believed that the future of this Ummah was young people. Because he loved young people, he used to give great important to carry out Islamic activities through young people. Of course, in return for his love and interest, young people loved him very much. Seeing Mullah Mohammed Said's loyalty, sincerity, effective and sincere work, young people were rally around him eagerly. Everywhere he went, he met the young people there, brought together the young people who were inclined to Islam and used to have conversations with them.”

“Mullah Said went through torture in prison but did not give up Islamic cause”

“Mullah Muhammad Said has had a lot of difficulties in engaging in Islamic activities. One of the problems was that he was away from his family. Because he couldn't take his family everywhere with him. Another challenge he faced was financial hardship. Because someone who dedicates themselves to Islamic cause cannot work their livelihood. He had a bookstore at the time and was earning very little income from there. He had no other income. Serious propaganda and slander were also made against Varol by the enemies of Islam. Therefore, he was detained in 2000. Mullah Said went through torture in prison but did not give up Islamic cause,” Mullah Abdulkuddus Yalçın concluded. (ILKHA)
