In his message, he wished that the blood and tears shedding in the Islamic geography would stop, and that it would be a Ramadan that would lead to the establishment of unity and brotherhood among Muslims.

Reminding that Muslims are entering Ramadan with sadness, Sağlam asked the Islamic world to learn from the calamities experienced by Muslims and thus end the conflicts among them.

“We are experiencing the bitter joy of meeting another Ramadan-ı Sharif. May Ramadan be blessed for our nation and the whole world of Islam by purifying the sins that occupy our hearts, the troubles that invade our souls, the mistakes that hurt our brotherhood."

Sağlam went on say: “I wish Allah the Almighty that Ramadan-I Sharif, whose beginning is mercy, its middle, forgiveness and its end, emancipation from the torment of hell, will bring happiness to Muslims and to all mankind.!”

“We have a sad start to this Ramadan, a little different from previous Ramadan”

“We have a sad start to this Ramadan which is a little different from previous Ramadan. At our iftars we will be alone, our mosques will be without tarawihs, our muqabalas (people reciting the Qur'an to each other) will be insufficient, our itikafs will be without mosques, our communities will be without mosques, our ranks will be sparse. However, it should not be forgotten that Ramadan will always be a blessing and divine gift. In these days when scourges surround all humanity, with the blessings of Ramadan, let us make the prayers of our elders, our innocent offspring and the oppressed who groan under oppression as a means for the scourge to be lifted.”

“We should not neglect to support the poor”

“Although we cannot find the opportunity to offer food to the fasting person at our tables at the iftar times, we must not neglect to help the poor, who do not find enough food at their tables, the orphans and the emigrants who spend Ramadan alone from their homes, “ Sağlam said.

He concluded as follows: “I wish that the persecution in Syria, Yemen and Arakan as well as in different regions of the world  will end; that the blood and tears will stop as soon as possible; that the emigrants who are away from their homes will return to their homes in peace; that the oppressed who are in captivity and in dungeons will have their freedom. I pray to Allah the Almighty for all of us to have Eid al-Fitr in peace and security.” (ILKHA)
