US aircraft crashes in Afghanistan
"An aircraft of American occupiers has crashed in Ghazni province. All the crew members onboard had been killed," Taliban spokesperson Zabihullah Mujahid said in a statement on Monday.
In a statement on Twitter, Col Sonny Leggett, a spokesperson for the US forces, confirmed that an American surveillance aircraft crashed in Ghazni province.
"A U.S. Bombardier E-11A crashed today in Ghazni province, Afghanistan. While the cause of crash is under investigation, there are no indications the crash was caused by enemy fire. We will provide additional information as it becomes available," the statement said.
"Taliban claims that additional aircraft have crashed are false," it added, without providing any details on the casualties.
On the other hand, Taliban also claimed that it has shot down a U.S. chopper in eastern Paktika province, but Leggett denied the Taliban claims. (ILKHA)
