37 percent of people in Germany do not consider themselves to belong to any religion or belief group according to 2017 data while 28 percent of the population are Catholics and 26 percent are Protestants.

The proportion of Muslims across the country is 5 percent, which estimates 4.4 to 4.7 million Muslims live in the country according to the latest data.
