Mosques are overflowed for Lailat al-Baraa
Lilat Al-Baraa or Beraat Kandili in Turkish, the harbinger of the month of Ramadan, was performed with prayers in Mardin with spiritual enthusiasm.
The Baraa Night, which is the 15th night of the month of Shaban and was accepted as the harbinger of the month of Ramadan, was performed with prayers in Mardin and its districts as in many other parts of Turkiye.
Mehmet Nur Aslan, one of the citizens who went to the mosque, congratulated all Muslims on the night of al-Baraa and said he would perform salaah and pray in the mosque.
Saying that he came to the mosque for Al-Baraa night, Mehmet Sıddık Irmak said he will attend to the program holds for the night and perform prayers.
"We will pray for the end of bloodshed in the Middle East, we will especially pray for the end of the war in Syria. May Allah accept the prayers of all Muslims," he said.
Umut Yücedağ, who wished that the night of the Baraa to be instrumental in the blessings, said they will spend the night with prayer. "I wish Allah accept prayers of all Muslims."
"I congratulate the night of al-Baraa of all Muslims. I hope that it will bring prosperity and peace," said Hüsnü Damar, another Muslims who went to the mosque. "I will spend this night in worship so that my Lord will accept the prayer of all."
In addition to men, women flocked to mosques. Müzeyyen Akpolat said that she had come to the mosque because of the Baraa Night and that she would read the Qur'an and perform salaah.
Semire Erdoğan congratulated the night of Baraa of Muslims and wished the night to be instrumental for good deeds.
Muhammad Emin Erdem a young boy who came to the mosque said he will pray in the occasion of the Lailat al-Baraa.
The program that held for the night has started with the reciting of the Qur'an.
Another program was held in Grand Mosque of Kızıltepe district of Mardin. The Grand Mosque of Kızıltepe, which its history backs to 8 centuries, was once used as a stable during the Republican era.
A large number of women, men, young and old people performed praying just before the night prayer in mosques.
Preacher Kemal Kahraman, giving a sermon of the importance of the night, said that the night gives an opportunity to get rid of sins and troubles, and advised the citizens to spend the night praying.
The night of the Baraa is the liberation of Muslims; let us tighten up our contact with Allah tonight. We will implore Allah until the dawn of the Fajr, and whoever has wishes to ask, should ask Allah tonight what he/she wants."
