Head of Religious Affairs Dr. Ali Erbaş participated in the opening program of Mawlid Al-Nabi Week held in Kosovo.

Stating that Mawlid, which expresses the birth of Prophet, has a very strong and rooted place in the minds and hearts of Muslims, Erbaş said: "Mawlid expresses the rebirth of mankind in the person of Prophet Muhammad and a bright future. It expresses the beginning of mankind's meeting with values such as rights, law, compassion and fine morality in a period of 'Jahiliya' [ignorance], where human and moral values were depletion on earth."

Erbaş noted that to observe Mawlid AI Nabi is to understand the way and the method of introducing justice, compassion and communication to the Earth that encompassed with enormous problems such as wars, poverty, and despair.

Stating that the theme of Mawlid AI Nabi week in 2018 was identified as "Our Prophet and the Youth", Erbaş said: "We know that youth is a very valuable blessing bestowed on man. It is the most intense period of dreams, excitement, quest, and idealism."

"The youth, which is the best years of life, gives the person the happiness of the world and the hereafter if it is evaluated well, and when if not, unfortunately, those years turn into the lost years that cannot be lived again."

Emphasizing that youth is the future, the greatest opportunity and wealth of a nation, Erbaş continued as follows:

"In the most difficult times in Mecca, young people accepted Islam by answering the invitation of our Prophet [PBUH].

"The Messenger of Allah [May Peace be upon Him] performed the greatest moral and legal revolution in history with a group of young people who believed in him," he added.

"It is, therefore, a known fact that young people are more likely to accept Islam and to give a heart to the struggle for truth. In this context, if we can approach the youth of this age to the Prophet, of course, they will be interested in us."

Erbaş noted that if they can represent and convey Islam through the method of the Prophet, many brave young people from this century will emerge to be friends of the companions. (ILKHA)
