German Die Welt newspaper announced that prisoner Deniz Yücel freed in Turkiye.

President Recep Erdoğan gave the following statements about Deniz Yücel's arrest: "Do you see Germany, don't you? He is not arrested because of being a representative of Die Welt. This person, as a representative of PKK, as a German agent, was hid for a month in German consulate. They did not give us when we asked to be tried. When Merkel told me about this, I told them that you have terrorists in your country, when we ask them to be given to Turkiye; you say the judiciary is independent. We also now trust to our independent unbiased judgment." (ILKHA)
