Balıkesir Mayor Ahmet Edip Uğur announced the resignation decision in Balıkesir Congress Center.

Explaining his decision in tears, Uğur said: "Our ability to do politics in the AK Party has been abolished.   I am leaving my party and mayor. In all the duties I have taken until today, I have been making efforts to serve my fellow citizens as Balıkesir lovers. I thank all my fellow citizens, my political friends, and my family for the support given to me in these long years." (ILKHA)
