It amazes those who see the prices of bead, which their dates back thousands of years and to the Ottoman period are put up on sale in the market established in Turkiye’s Batman.

The price of beads offered for sale at the teahouse where the bead sellers and buyers in the region are gathered on a certain day of the week, compete with the low house prices. Also known as the “Bead Stock Market”, there are bead’s prices can be found from 5 Turkish Liras to 30 thousand dollars.

Uğur Engüderoğlu, a seller of bead, spoke to ILKHA correspondent about the beads in the market, said that the most expensive bead in the market is that the weight of 211 grams, approximately 150 years old Ottoman squeezed amber and costs 30 thousand dollars. The seller also claimed that the bead has healing and beneficial for human body.

“Bead is also used for healing purposes”

Stating that the cost beads start from 100 Turkish Liras up to $ 30 thousand, Engüderoğlu said that the second most expensive bead in the market is bead made from drop amber with the cost of 10 thousand dollars.

Engüderoğlı continued: “Each of the drop bead made by individual craftsmen. The mineral of this bead has as long as the history of the world.
