Thousands of fish wasted due to water of Gözegöl pond pulled away which is located in the central district of Diyarbakır Kayapınar. Thousands of fish in less water are also at risk.

Located 25 kilometers away from the center of Diyarbakır and having 65 hectares surface the Gözegöl pond, thousands of fish wash ashore.

It is alleged that the fish in the pond where there are various kinds of fish are wasted due to lack of oxygen in the water.

Villager Alattin Çakır said that the current status of ponds which had very tasty fish inside is very sad.

Çakır claimed that the water comes to the pond, has been cut from another village and caused the water to dry, that’s why fish were wasted. (M. Hüseyin Temel - Mehmet Çelik - ILKHA)
