Russian President Vladimir Putin said at the summit of the BRICS countries (Brazil, Russia, China, India and South Africa) held in China on the demand that the US pressure on the North Korea be increased with stricter sanctions, “The present military hysteria is not a good news of development, it may turn into a global wreck that will cost many lives.”

“North Korea will not give up its nuclear program unless it feels safe,” Putin said and added that “There is no other solution than dialogue to solve North Korea's nuclear problem.”

Putin also criticized the United States, saying that Washington first took China and Russia to the sanctions list, and then expecting help from these both countries to punish North Korea.

Merkel says she supports UN sanctions

German Chancellor Angela Merkel also announced that she supports the sanctions that the UN wants to impose on North Korea in telephone talks with US President Trump and South Korean President separately.

Merkel also announced that she would make an effort to find a diplomatic solution to the problem on the EU level. Merkel said Germany wants to implement additional sanctions against North Korea in the EU, along with France.

North Korea, which conducted a hydrogen bomb test last Sunday, had already conducted missile tests. South Korea has announced that North Korea can do intercontinental ballistic missile tests in a short period of time. (ILKHA)
