Governor Hasan Basri Güzeloğlu, who was appointed to the Governor of Diyarbakır from the Governor of Kocaeli by the last decision published in the Official Gazette, commenced his duty today.

Coming to Diyarbakır with his wife Ayşe Güzeloğlu by airplane, the Governor Güzeloğlu welcomed here by the representatives of provincial protocol and non-governmental organizations. Then Güzeloğlu, who performed the Friday prayer at Grand Mosque, Islam's 5th harem, then greeted with the people.

Güzeloğlu then passed to the governor, officially started his duty, and made explanations to press members.

Regarding the greatness of being the Governor of Diyarbakır, Güzeloğlu stated that Diyarbakır is a historic city of the civilization.

Expressing that Diyarbakır should be understood, Güzeloğlu said that Diyarbakır is the heart of Turkiye.

Güzeloğlu expressed the excitement of serving as governor of Diyarbakır, said, “The importance of the Governor of Diyarbakır is no doubt great. Diyarbakır is a city of civilization, a city of our past, a very important city of our cultural world, and a special and beautiful city of beliefs, prophets, companions of Prophet Muhammad, and saints. In this sense, the seal of Diyarbakır is the heart of Turkiye. I feel the excitement and undoubted responsibility of serving as governor in such a dignified and responsible role. We want to serve our people, and meet with them. We wish to establish beautiful bridges in the unity of the state, nation. Diyarbakir is the name of a greatness that can provide it with its potential, dynamism, depth and richness that deserve everything in this sense.” (M.
