Association of Aid and Solidarity with Orphan and Victims [Yetim-Der] took 300 orphans in Diyarbakir together with their families in picnic under the campaign “Also you make an Orphan happy”.

Some orphan children, who were taken to a leisure center in Kayapınar town, some played some ball, some enjoyed a play in an inflatable game park, and others played chess and visited the zoo.

Yetim-Der Bağlar District Representative Vedat Bilge, who informed about the picnic organization they had made, stated that they brought more than 300 orphan families to the picnic.

Yetim-Der Bağlar District Representative Bilge stated that there were families suffered by the conflicts that took place in Sur province among the orphan families who came to the picnic, said that they bring the orphans together on a picnic every year.

Saying that the orphans' joy is their joy, Bilge said, “We will make picnics to make orphans happy we started last year as Yetim-Der. We brought the orphan kids to the picnic with the support of a charitable. Children are enjoying and playing here beautifully. We are more than happy with their joy. Because the orphan’s joy is our joy.”

“If orphans are happy, we rejoice and humanity will rejoice”

Bilge emphasized with laughing of organs the world with be delighted, “We use the slogan ‘If orphan laugh, the world will laugh’ as Yetim-Der. So if these orphans laugh, we rejoice in happiness, humanity will rejoice. We've brought 250-300 orphan to picnic right now. Last year, we took nearly 400 orphans to the picnic. Due to the fact that schools are continuing this year, 250-300 children came to picnic. Some of the orphans we have brought to the picnic are families whose homes have been demolished due to conflicts that took place in Sur province last year.”

Bilge reminding them that they have organized a picnic event for orphans every year, “I witnessed the orphan children talking among themselves in the picnic we organized last year. One of the children was telling the other that his father had passed away for 3 years and that after his father's death no one took him to the picnic. What this child says is so emotional. I hope that we will continue our work and bring orphans together in these organizations.”

The orphan children and their parents who participated in the picnic stated that they were satisfied with the service of Yetim-Der.

“I have never seen my children were so happy before”

Two orphan child mothers Fatma Kuzu said, “I have lost my husband for 9 years and have two orphan children. These events are very good, may God bless the organizers. Our children are happy at these events. Yetim-Der makes us delightful with such activities. I have never seen my children were so happy before, we could not go to the picnic because we are financially limited. Thanks to Yetim-Der, we have enjoyed this happiness.”

Remarking that she is too happy to come to the picnic 12-years -old Güzel Yutaz said, “I am very happy here, I am very rejoice. Everyone is helping us here. After my father passed away my mother always brings us to Yetim-Der. This association is for the children who are orphans, this is the association of orphans. Yetim-Der wants to entertain children and make them happy.”

13-years-old Muhammet Canbey said that the picnic is very beautiful, expressed his joy with the following words: “I am very happy, it is a great activity. We played in the trampoline. Yetim-Der is also helping us with food and meat. They also gave our school equipment. This is my second picnic with them, I am very happy.”

Yusuf Kaya (11), Muhammet Tüt (13) and İbrahim Eleftus (12) stated that they were very happy with the picnic among the children who participated in the picnic. (M. Hüseyin Temel - ILKHA)
