"3 million refugees are trying to come to Turkiye from Iran"

On a private television channel, Deputy Prime Minister Veysi Kaynak said about 3 million refugees, mostly Afghan refugees, are trying to come to Turkiye, explaining related to the refugee issue and readmission agreement.

Kaynak stated that if Europe not fulfill their obligations, the agreement will not work and said, “There are three main issues, Turkiye will send a refugee to Europe in exchange for each unauthorized refugee. The second will be given as a financial contribution to Turkiye's immigrants. The third that free movement would be given to Turkish citizens. The agreement gives obligations to both sides. Turkiye has fulfill their obligations. We do not negotiate the readmission agreement with the refugees. We have the right to be noticed if it does not fulfill the European obligations. Readmission agreement will not work in this way.”

Recalling that about 3 million refugees, mostly Afghan refugees, are trying to come to Turkiye, Kaynak said, “There are a total of 3.5 million refugees. 3 million are Syrians. Turkiye is not facing migrants for the first time, Anatolia is the mother's bosom for humanity. There are 3 million refugees, trying to come to Turkiye, more Afghan refugees. In 2016, 30 thousand people were entered and processed without permission in Iğdır and Ağrı.” (ILKHA)
