Ahmed Veli who has lost his hearing and speech due to bombardment in Aleppo is now struggling for life with his family in Mardin Kızıltepe Dunaysır neighborhood and are waiting for a helping hand to reach out to them.

Ahmet Veli (32) who first settled in Gaziantep with his wife Ruken İbrahim (27), daughter Şem (3) and his 1.5 year old son Abdurraman in Turkiye, settled to Kızıltepe after he worked in 2 workplaces for 7 months and hasn’t got his wages.

Ruken Ibrahim said that her husband lost the ability to hear and speak from bombardment voices when bombing in Aleppo. Due to her husband’s hearing and speaking disabilities, Ruken complained that no one gives her husband a job.

Ibrahim stated that their house in Aleppo has destroyed in bombardments and fled to here only with dress on them. "My husband used to hear and talking but lost his hearing and speech he exposed burst eardrum after planes bombed Aleppo. He can neither hear nor speak anymore."

Having said that they had left Syria for about a year, Ibrahim said that they had been stuck in Aleppo at first, but they found a way and went to Gaziantep.

Reminding that hearing and speech-impaired husband worked in Gaziantep for 3 months alongside a painter, Ibrahim stated that her husband’s wage wasn’t paid, and added "My husband worked in a factory later. Also worked there for about 4 months. They did not give my husband’s money. Whenever we went there and ask for the wage, they said 'the factory owner went bankrupt. He has not given anyone any money, nor can he give you his money'. So they did not give our money."

Ruken Ibrahim, who later immigrated to Mardin's Kızıltepe district, said, "It's been a month and a week here. My husband is looking for a job but has not found a job until now. Wherever he goes, they are not employ him due to his deaf and speechless. Sometimes some philanthropists are helping us, but we can’t ask for help from someone even if we stay hungry at home. We only ask from Allah; we have no one but Allah. We don’t have possessions, nor clothes or money... We have nothing; we only have Allah. We have no relatives here."

"I hope the state and philanthropists will take care of us and help us"

Ruken Ibrahim stated that they were grateful to Allah for having survived the bombing with their children. "When we came to Kızıltepe, the son of this house owner put us here. The house rent is 250 Turkish Liras. He said 'When your husband get a job, you have to pay rent then'. Of course, we could not pay the rent till now because my husband cannot work. I hope that when my husband finds a job, we will pay his house rent. Allah bless the State, they took care of us. They rescued us from bombs, sheltered us. Thank Allah we were saved together with our children. Now the state is helping the rest, saving them from there. I hope the state, philanthropists will help us here too." (ILKHA)
