Due to the demolish of his hovel, 90 years old Zeki Normal now staying in the house of his son-in-law and asking a house from authorities that they can live in.

Zeki Normal, who lives in Bahçelievler neighborhood in 1632 street, waiting for a helping hand.

Elderly Zeki and his wife sheltered to their daughter. Son-in-law of elderly Zeki can’t get a job due to his disables and they live in the poorhouse. The family which they can’t even pay their rent for the house, asks only a house from the state they can fit in.

Elder Zeki uttered they had to live with his daughter who has 3 kids and added, “My house destroyed which was very old and I built with my own opportunities. My wife and I had to shelter to my daughter. But they also scrape a living. My son-in-law is disabled and can’t work. We try to live with the old-age pension which we get once in 6 months.”

While my grandson need to go to school, he works instead

Elderly Zeki stated that they are in a difficult condition and added, “Not having a house to live in and old age is difficult. Sometimes we cry for our situation. Like I said, there is no one of us to work. I have a 15 years old grandson who is in school age. While he has to go to school, we made him work in a market because out of desperation. He earns only a little money.”

All of aid has been cut

Daughter of elderly Zeki, said that all of aid has been cut and added those words, “All of aid we took from Social Solidarity has been cut. My husband is a disabled one. My son has quitted from his school and started working in market because out of desperation. We are miserable and victimized. We can’t pay the rent for house. We can’t afford school expense of 2 of my other kids. We demand authorities to help us as soon as possible.” (ILKHA)
