During a youth event ‘Winter Camps Projects’ organized by Ministry of Youth and Sports, students from Diyarbakır and different cities were taken to Mersin. A group of pro-PKK students attacked religious students in the facility and as a result of this barbarous attack Cafer Gizli was martyred.

CCTV footage emerges showing the details of the murder moment. In the video it is clearly seen that a group of pro-PKK students come from the beach side with bats and knives assaulting the Gizli and his friends in a rage as Gizli and his friends are in the administrative part of the facility. 

As their rage rises, Gizli jumps out of the window from the building to counter attack of the mob. As it is seen in the video, Cafer disperses the assailants, meanwhile a person, allegedly Mehmet Duman, runs towards Cafer Gizli and stabs him in his stomach several times.

After a short while Cafer begins to stumble and after a few steps he moves, it is seen that Cafer falls to the ground holding his head and his back.

It is also seen that the group runs off in all directions as Cafer falls to the ground.

On the other hand, the first hearing of the case, in which the single arrested defendant Mehmet Duman is going to be tried, is going to be held in Silifke on 17 May. It is claimed in the indictment that Mehmet Duman and his friends come from Hakkari province attacked Cafer Gizli’s room with bats and broke the windows. The indictment also indicates that defendant stabbed the victim in his stomach with a knife brought with him. (ILKHA)
