Israeli airstrike in Beirut kills three PFLP leaders
The Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine (PFLP) has confirmed the martyrdom of three of its members, including two senior leaders, following an Israeli airstrike in Beirut.
The group identified the martyrs as Mohammed Abdel Aal, Imad Awda, and Abdul Rahman Abdel Aal.
The attack targeted a residential apartment in the Cola area of the Lebanese capital, marking the first Israeli strike on Beirut since the onset of the conflict.
According to local reports, the strike occurred at midnight on Sunday, and initial investigations suggest it was carried out by a drone, with an unexploded missile still present in the building.
In a statement, the PFLP expressed pride in the sacrifices of its fallen members, reiterating its commitment to armed resistance against the Israeli occupation. The group vowed to continue fighting until what it called the "eradication" of the Israeli occupation.
The incident highlights a significant escalation in the regional conflict, bringing the violence directly into the heart of Lebanon's capital. (ILKHA)
