Palestinian man dies from Israeli gunfire during raid in Al-Fawwar refugee camp
A 29-year-old Palestinian man, Yehya Awad, was pronounced dead early Wednesday after succumbing to a critical bullet injury he sustained during a raid by Israeli occupation forces (IOF) on al-Fawwar refugee camp in southern al-Khalil.
According to medical and local sources, Awad was shot in the chest during clashes with Israeli soldiers who stormed the camp on Tuesday night, firing live ammunition at local residents. The raid involved intensive gunfire as Israeli forces carried out home raids in the area.
Awad, a worker at the al-Khalil municipality, leaves behind a one-year-old daughter, and his wife is pregnant with their second child.
In addition to Awad's death, three other young men suffered moderate injuries during the skirmishes with Israeli soldiers in the camp, local sources confirmed.
In response to the incident, Palestinian factions have called for a general strike in al-Fawwar camp to mourn the death of Yehya Awad, whom they hailed as a martyr.
Tensions remain high in the area as Israeli forces continue their operations across the occupied West Bank. (ILKHA)
