In a statement on X, Altun criticized the entry of thousands of Zionists into the mosque's courtyard, which took place under the protection of Israeli police forces.

"We strongly condemn the entry of thousands of Zionists into the courtyard of the Al-Aqsa Mosque and their attack in the presence of Israeli police, which derives all its power from the silence of the world," Altun declared.

He described the attack on the first Qibla of Muslims as "unacceptable" and urged the global community to raise a unified voice against Israel's "bloodshed and provocation." Altun called on those with a sense of morality and conscience to respond to the events at Al-Aqsa, emphasizing that "we cannot and should not remain silent."

Altun also warned that Israel, which he accused of martyring tens of thousands of Palestinians, including the elderly, women, and children, in violation of human rights and international law, would be held accountable for its actions. He stressed that Israel would "never go unpunished" and reaffirmed Turkey's unwavering support for the Palestinian cause.

"Regardless of the circumstances, we will stand by the Palestinian people and continue to support their rightful cause to the end," Altun concluded. (ILKHA)
