Türkiye lowers flags at diplomatic missions in Tel Aviv and Jerusalem in mourning for Haniyeh
Türkiye has lowered its flags to half-staff at its Embassy in Tel Aviv and the Consulate General in Jerusalem, which is accredited to Palestine, as part of a national day of mourning for the assassination of Hamas political chief Ismail Haniyeh.
Haniyeh was assassinated on Wednesday in Tehran, Iran’s capital. While Hamas and Iran have blamed Israel for the killing, Tel Aviv has neither confirmed nor denied its involvement.
This incident follows the assassination of Hezbollah commander Fuad Shukr in an Israeli airstrike in Beirut’s southern suburb just a day earlier.
Türkiye's day of mourning reflects the country's stance and its diplomatic protocols in response to the assassination. (ILKHA)
