Turkish Coast Guard rescues 26 migrants pushed back by Greek authorities
Turkish Coast Guard teams have successfully rescued 26 irregular migrants in two life rafts that were pushed back into Turkish territorial waters by Greek coast guard elements.
The incident occurred off the coast of the Marmaris district in Muğla, according to local sources.
The rescue operation led to the arrest of a suspected migrant smuggler, who is believed to be involved in facilitating the illegal journey of the migrants.
Following the rescue, the irregular migrants were transferred to the Provincial Directorate of Migration Management for processing and further assistance.
