Developed by Economic Explosives Ltd, a subsidiary of Solar Industries in Nagpur, SEBEX 2 is among the most powerful conventional explosives in the world. The Indian Navy has certified the new formulation, marking a significant milestone in the country's defense capabilities.

SEBEX 2 offers a much more powerful blast effect compared to any currently available solid explosive. According to Solar Industries officials, the performance of explosives is measured in terms of TNT equivalence, with higher TNT equivalence indicating greater lethality and destructive power.

Conventional explosives like DENTEX and TORPEX, which are widely used in warheads, aerial bombs, and various other ammunitions globally, have a TNT equivalence of 1.25 to 1.30. SEBEX 2's TNT equivalence of 2.01 positions it as a game-changer for the Indian armed forces, providing a significant enhancement in explosive effect and firepower.

The development of SEBEX 2 underscores India's commitment to advancing its defense technology and maintaining a robust national security apparatus. (ILKHA)
