Syria reports deaths in Israeli attack from occupied Golan Heights
Israeli occupation forces conducted a late-night airstrike on multiple locations in southern Syria, leading to the deaths of two individuals and causing injuries to a Syrian serviceman, according to an official statement from the Syrian Defense Ministry.
The attack, initiated around 23:40 local time, originated from the occupied Golan Heights, the Syrian ministry disclosed. Despite activating air defense systems to intercept incoming missiles, the assault resulted in casualties and significant material damage.
"Our air defense systems engaged enemy missiles, successfully intercepting some. As a result of this aggression, two individuals lost their lives, and one of our servicemen sustained injuries," the Syrian ministry reported.
This incident underscores ongoing tensions where Israel continues to infringe upon Syria's sovereignty by conducting airstrikes from both Lebanese and Israeli airspace, inflicting harm and causing destruction. Just weeks ago, Syrian air defenses effectively repelled another missile attack near Homs in western Syria. (ILKHA)
