According to the survey, 61% of Gazans reported losing at least one family member in the conflict that has raged since October 7, 2023.

The survey, conducted between May 26 and June 1, focused on the "Al-Aqsa Flood" battle, the subsequent war, the Israeli ground invasion, and the severe humanitarian crisis unfolding in Gaza. The poll highlighted the extensive casualties and the desperate conditions faced by Gazan residents.

About 80% of Gazans reported having a family member killed or injured. Specifically, 61% said one or more relatives were killed, while 65% reported one or more relatives were injured.

Only 26% of Gaza residents managed to reach places where they could receive aid. Another 72% managed to get help but faced great difficulty and risk, and 2% were unable to receive any help.

The poll indicated severe food insecurity, with 64% of residents having sufficient food for only one or two days, while 36% lacked sufficient food for even a day.

The PCPSR noted that the data collection did not include the besieged northern Gaza Strip, which is experiencing worsening famine conditions. The survey involved 1,570 participants, including 760 face-to-face interviews in the West Bank and 750 in the Gaza Strip.

The findings underscore the catastrophic humanitarian situation in Gaza, where residents are grappling with the fallout of relentless military aggression. The ongoing conflict has not only resulted in significant loss of life but also severely disrupted access to essential services and aid.

The PCPSR’s poll paints a grim picture of the current state of Gaza, highlighting the urgent need for international intervention to address the escalating humanitarian crisis and support the affected population. (ILKHA)
