Colombian President honored with Palestinian Order of the State for Gaza Support
Colombian President Gustavo Petro has been awarded the Palestinian Order of the State in recognition of his support for the Palestinian cause and his leadership on issues concerning Gaza.
The award was presented by Palestinian Foreign Minister Riyad al-Maliki in a ceremony at the Presidential Palace, Casa de Narino, in Bogota.
During the event, al-Maliki commended President Petro for his consistent advocacy against the injustices faced by the Palestinian people and his vocal opposition to the attacks on Gaza by the Zionist regime.
“President Petro has always spoken out against the injustices faced by the Palestinian people and has reacted strongly to the Zionist regime’s attacks on Gaza,” al-Maliki stated, expressing gratitude for Petro’s efforts in raising global awareness about the plight of Palestinians.
President Petro expressed his appreciation for the award on social media, stating, “I thank the Palestinian people for awarding me this Order, which I consider the most valuable gift of my life.”
The ceremony underscored Colombia's stance on the Palestinian issue and highlighted President Petro's commitment to advocating for Palestinian rights on the international stage. (ILKHA)
