Armenian police detain 226 protesters amid civil disobedience actions in Yerevan
Armenian police have detained 226 protesters amid widespread civil disobedience actions demanding the resignation of Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan.
Despite the protests, all streets in Yerevan remain open, according to the Ministry of Internal Affairs.
"All detainees did not comply with the lawful demands of the police. All streets of Yerevan are open at the moment," the ministry stated.
The protests, which began early Monday morning, have seen demonstrators taking to the streets across Armenia, calling for the Prime Minister's resignation.
The authorities have responded by detaining those who refused to disperse, ensuring that traffic and daily activities in the capital remain unaffected. (ILKHA)
