The recent heavy rainfall has caused widespread damage across 23 provinces, destroying or partially destroying 2,627 homes.  Sadly, the floods have also claimed the lives of an estimated 600 livestock.

The Ministry has vowed to provide permanent housing to those affected, aiming to address their immediate needs.

International aid is arriving to assist with the recovery efforts. The UN's OCHA has pledged support in the form of healthcare, cash assistance, food, clean water, and temporary shelters.  Several aid agencies have also committed to delivering food and financial aid to the flood victims.

However, the situation remains concerning as the National Meteorological Department forecasts continued rainfall until April 21st, raising fears of further flooding. (ILKHA)
