Elder highlighted the challenges faced by children in Rafah, where hunger and fear are prevalent due to the threat of Israeli assaults. He emphasized the influx of 1.5 million people into the area as a result of the escalating Israeli aggression.

In a video shared on X account, Elder underscored the plight of children and families seeking refuge in Rafah, noting that they were directed there under the promise of safety. However, despite assurances, the area has not been spared from brutal attacks.

"Rafah is a city for children. There are 600,000 boys and girls, yet they are under threat of military assault, trapped in Rafah, with no safe place to go," Elder expressed.

He shed light on the daily struggles faced by parents in trying to maintain hope for their children amid the pervasive fear and hunger, warning that the concept of "hope" is at risk of being erased from the vocabulary in Gaza.

Elder urged all individuals who empathize with the anguish of parents and believe in the importance of childhood to take action and end the suffering endured by the children of Rafah.

According to data from the Palestinian Central Bureau of Statistics, Israeli occupation forces have been responsible for the deaths of an average of 4 children every hour in the Gaza Strip. Additionally, 43,349 children are reported to be living without one or both of their parents due to the continuous Israeli aggression in the region since October 7th of the previous year. (ILKHA)
