Emek emphasized that the 15th day of Ramadan has been designated as World Orphans Day since 2013. While the annual commemoration serves to raise awareness about the suffering, longing, and yearning of orphans, Emek underscored that the true purpose extends beyond mere remembrance. The goal is to foster lasting sensitivity toward the needs of orphans worldwide.

“Each year,” Emek lamented, “we hope for a world and an Islamic ummah where the number of orphans decreases, where deprivation and pain wane. Regrettably, we find ourselves witnessing the opposite—a multiplication of suffering during each new Ramadan. Orphans are indeed decreasing, but not in the way we desire. Rather than children living harmoniously with their parents, we now witness parents brutally murdered, leaving their children bereft.”

Emek pointed to the recent Aqsa Flood, initiated by the esteemed heroes of the ummah, as a turning point. The merciless and humiliating state of the savage Zionists has led to a situation where even children cannot remain orphaned in Gaza. “Gaza is not merely home to orphans; it has become the orphan of the entire ummah—a place being systematically annihilated before the eyes of the world,” he said.

The Orphans Foundation reaffirmed its commitment to aiding orphans worldwide but stressed that Gaza requires urgent focus.  "As Muslims and humans, our responsibility is greater. We must offer our support through protests, boycotts, and donations. We have a duty to act for Jerusalem, Masjid al-Aqsa, and Gaza,” Emek pleaded.

The statement concluded with a call for donations and prayers during Ramadan. "On this World Orphans Day," Emek said, "we pray for an end to the occupation, freedom for Jerusalem and Masjid al-Aqsa, and liberation for Gaza from this suffering."  (ILKHA)
