Kadir Özkaya elected new President of Türkiye's Constitutional Court
Kadir Özkaya was elected as the new president of the Turkish Constitutional Court on Thursday, replacing Zühtü Arslan whose term is coming to an end.
Arslan's 4-year tenure was set to expire in one month, prompting the Court to hold presidential elections.
Özkaya secured the position with the backing of 9 out of the 15 Court members, including Arslan himself.
Özkaya's term will last for two years. (ILKHA)
