Turkish President meets with Somali counterpart at Antalya Diplomacy Forum
Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan engaged in high-level discussions with President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud of Somalia during the Antalya Diplomacy Forum (ADF) held on Saturday.
President Erdoğan and President Mohamud deliberated on various topics, including economic and defense cooperation between their respective countries.
The meeting follows the signing of a Defense and Economic Cooperation Framework Agreement between Turkish Defense Minister Yasar Guler and Somali Defense Minister Abdulkadir Mohamed Nur on February 8.
Mohamud affirmed that the 10-year agreement focuses on bolstering the blue economy, enhancing fish production, constructing economic infrastructure, protecting marine resources, countering terrorism, and preventing illegal activities along Somalia's coastline. Both presidents gave their approval to the agreement.
The Antalya Diplomacy Forum attracted heads of state and government, along with numerous foreign ministers, academics, and think tanks from around the world. This year's forum emphasized the role of diplomacy in addressing conflicts in the modern era. (ILKHA)
