The primary agenda of the meeting is to address the collective response to counter the disinformation campaigns and hostilities perpetrated by the israeli occupying authority against journalists and media outlets in the occupied Palestinian territory.

Hosted by the Republic of Turkiye in its capacity as Chair of the current session of the Islamic Conference of Information Ministers, the conference is expected to be attended by information ministers and officials responsible for communication from OIC Member States.

Hissein Brahim Taha, the OIC Secretary-General, is scheduled to deliver a speech during the conference, informing participants about the ongoing atrocities committed by the Israeli occupation against journalists and media professionals across various media outlets and press institutions.

The zionist occupation army has been widely criticized for its suppression of media freedom in the Gaza Strip and throughout Palestine. Reports have highlighted the targeting of over 140 media institutions, resulting in the deaths of at least 132 individuals working in the press and media sector since October 7, 2023.

Additionally, israel has systematically demolished the premises of media organizations and disrupted internet services for media workers and residents of the Gaza Strip. The relentless aggression by the israeli occupation has inflicted extensive damage, including massacres, widespread displacement, and the destruction of essential service sectors, such as the media industry.
