The Aegean region, responsible for 60% of Türkiye's dried fruit exports, performed even better. Led by the Aegean Dried Fruits and Products Exporters' Association, the region witnessed a 38% export growth, reaching $92.5 million in January. This impressive achievement makes the association the record holder for export increase among Aegean Exporters' Associations (EIB).

Mehmet Ali Işık, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Aegean Dried Fruits and Products Exporters' Association, attributed the success to increased export quantities and higher value per ton. He emphasized Türkiye's position as the "dry fruit warehouse of the world," exporting an average of 500,000 tons annually.

Looking ahead, Işık expressed confidence in achieving the national target of $1.8 billion in dried fruit exports for 2024, with the Aegean region aiming for a $1.1 billion share. (ILKHA)
