The incident occurred around 3:15 p.m. local time on Wednesday, according to the New South Wales (NSW) police.

The sole occupant and pilot of the plane, the teenage boy who is yet to be formally identified, sadly died at the scene.

Police confirmed the boy was the only person on board and that he was a student pilot. The type of plane involved and the cause of the crash are still under investigation.

The Australian Transport Safety Bureau (ATSB) has launched a probe into the accident, and a detailed investigation into the circumstances surrounding the crash is underway.

"Our thoughts are with the family and friends of the young man who died in this tragic accident," said a spokesperson for the NSW Police Force. "We will be working closely with the ATSB to determine the cause of the crash."

This incident serves as a stark reminder of the dangers of flying, and the ATSB's investigation will aim to identify any safety recommendations that can be made to prevent similar tragedies in the future. (ILKHA)
