While expressing optimism about potential recognition in 2024, Mujahid stressed that the recognition process requires a reciprocal approach from countries worldwide. He highlighted the importance of both parties involved in the recognition process exhibiting flexibility.

“This is not a one-way road, and cannot look at it from one side. Organizations and some countries that stand in the way should show flexibility,” remarked the spokesperson during a recent statement.

According to Mujahid, for a country to receive recognition, it needs to have established boundaries, a functioning government, and a recognized system. He suggested that the issue of intervention hinges on the inclusion or exclusion of nations and the nature of the governing system.

Despite the Islamic Emirate holding power for over two years and having representatives in more than 14 countries, it has yet to receive formal recognition from any nation. Some countries, including neighbors, maintain operational embassies in Afghanistan, reflecting the complexities surrounding the recognition process.

The appeal from the Islamic Emirate sheds light on the ongoing diplomatic efforts to secure global acknowledgment and the need for cooperative gestures from nations considering recognizing the interim government. (ILKHA)
