This directive applies to all schools, professional colleges, tuition centers, and similar educational facilities in the district.

The Education Department of Kerala has taken the initiative to ensure continued education during this period by implementing online learning methods for students.

The decision to extend the closure comes in light of the confirmation of another Nipah virus infection on September 15, bringing the total number of cases to six in the region. Tragically, two individuals have lost their lives to the virus in this recent outbreak.

The local government remains committed to containing the spread of the Nipah virus and protecting the health and safety of its residents. The situation is being closely monitored, and further measures may be implemented as needed to control the outbreak.

Residents are urged to follow all recommended safety protocols, including frequent handwashing, wearing masks, and maintaining social distancing to mitigate the risk of contracting the virus. (ILKHA)
