The floods wreaked havoc in several districts, namely Jalrez, Chak, Syed Abad, Nerkh, and Jaghatu, causing significant human and economic loss.

According to the provincial governor's office statement, local disaster management officials reported 22 fatalities, with around 40 others still missing.

The catastrophe resulted in the destruction of hundreds of homes, leaving the missing individuals potentially trapped under the debris of collapsed buildings.

Moreover, the floods caused extensive damage to thousands of acres of farmland, adding to the severity of the situation.

The aftermath of the disaster led to the closure of the Kabul-Bamiyan highway and roads connecting various districts due to the extensive destruction caused by the floods. (ILKHA)
