Türkiye aims to increase its trade volume with UAE to some $25 billion--Erdoğan

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan addressed via videoconference the signing ceremony of the Türkiye-United Arab Emirates (UAE) Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement and Türkiye-UAE Free Trade Agreement.

Speaking at the signing ceremony of the Türkiye-UAE Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement, President Erdoğan said that the signed agreement was of historic importance, and added: “We will build an economic bridge which has strong foundations and is extending from Europe to North Africa, from Russia to the Gulf region. Thanks to the comprehensive feature of the agreement, I believe we will increase our trade volume to some 25 billion dollars within five years.”

Erdoğan commenced his speech by thanking the UAE for the support it had provided in kind and in cash for the earthquakes that had occurred in Kahramanmaraş and nine other provinces.

“The Turkish nation will never forget a helping hand extended to them during trying times,” Erdoğan noted and continued as follows: “The progress the Türkiye-UAE relations, based on strong foundations, have made in every area is a source of pride for us. We are marking this year the 50th anniversary of the establishment of our diplomatic relations. The Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement, which has just been signed, is of historic importance in terms of this feature as well as of all the terms. With the signing of this agreement, our economic and trade cooperation has entered a new phase.”
