Türkiye’s agricultural input price index soars 134% in a year

The agricultural input price index (Agricultural-IPI) increased by 134.76% annually and 2.68% monthly, the Turkish Statistical Institute said in a statement on Wednesday.

Agriculture-IPI (2015=100) increased by 2.68% compared to previous month, increased by 97.00% compared to December of the previous year, increased by 134.76% compared to same month of the previous year and increased by 105.81% compared to twelve months moving averages, in October 2022.

Monthly changes by main groups, goods and services currently consumed in agricultural index increased by 2.34% and goods and services contributing to agricultural investment index increased by 5.43%. The goods and services contributing to agricultural investment index increased by 100.96% and the goods and services currently consumed in agricultural index increased by 140.04% compared to same month of the previous year.

Compared to general Agricultural-IPI, lower annual change observed in 7 subgroups while 4 subgroups were higher

Subgroups that indicated low increase were veterinary expenses with 38.42% and other goods and services with 63.76%. On the other hand, energy; lubricants with 196.89% and fertilizer and soil improvers with 192.52% were the subgroups that high annual increase realized.

Compared to general Agricultural-IPI, lower monthly change observed in 4 subgroups while 7 subgroups were higher

Other goods and services with 0.39% and maintenance of materials with 0.67% were the subgroups that indicated low monthly increase. On the other hand, materials with 6.79% and energy; lubricants with 4.11% were the subgroups that high monthly increase realized. (ILKHA)
