Prisoner Awawdeh’s lawyer Ahlam Haddad said in a brief statement on Tuesday that the court argues that they are not an appeal body against the decision issued on the 21st of August.

“They told us that they did not bring anything new for the decision to be changed from freezing Awawdeh’s administrative detention to being released,” lawyer Haddad added.

For its part, the Euro-Mediterranean Human Rights Monitor affirmed in a press statement on Tuesday that prisoner Awawdeh suffers from serious health issues that have affected the functions of his vital organs, stressing that Awawdeh’s condition requires urgent intervention by all concerned parties to save his life.

Earlier on Sunday, human rights organizations published pictures of Awawdeh which showed that he had reached a critical stage as a result of his continued strike, and he looked like a skeleton.

The European Union expressed its shock at Awawdeh’s pictures, describing them as "horrible". It added that Awawdeh “is in imminent danger of death,” demanding that he must be released immediately.
