Magnitude 4.2 earthquake hits central Turkey

A 4.2 magnitude quake struck the Meram district of Turkey’s central Konya province on Monday, Turkey’s Disaster and Emergency Management Presidency announced on its website.

The earthquake occurred at around 12:30 TSI, with its epicenter at a latitude of 37.8706 degrees north and a longitude of 32.1135 degrees east, and at a depth of 6.99 km.

The earthquake was felt in the nearby provinces, including Burdur, Karaman, and Aksaray, according to local sources said.

There are no immediate reports of serious damage or deaths. (ILKHA)
