Scheduled for Sunday, April 28th at 1:30 pm, the event will be held at the Newroz Park meeting area and carry the theme "Jihad Leader Hazrat Muhammad."

This year's Mawlid-i Nabi holds particular significance as Menaf Adıyaman, Chairman of the Organizing Committee, highlighted during the announcement.  Adıyaman emphasized the event's purpose of not only commemorating the Prophet's birth but also fostering a deeper understanding of his teachings, especially relevant in light of current global conflicts.

"We, as the Prophet’s Lovers Foundation, are experiencing the excitement and enthusiasm of the Mawlid-i Nebi, which we have made traditional every year," Adıyaman said, quoting a verse that underlines the Prophet as a role model for all Muslims.  He further connected the upcoming celebration to the ongoing struggles in Gaza, stating, "This year's Mawlid-i Nabi event is held in the shadow of the genocide, massacre and sadness in Gaza. May God condemn the group of oppressors..."

Adıyaman stressed the belief that understanding Prophet Muhammad's (PBUH) teachings is key to achieving unity, solidarity, and ultimately, peace.  He positioned the chosen theme, "Jihad Leader Prophet Muhammad," as a response to these pressing needs.

The event promises to be a vibrant celebration filled with the spirit of spring.  Adıyaman extended a warm invitation to all residents of Diyarbakır, encouraging them to bring their families and friends to participate in prayers, festivities, and commemorate the Prophet's birth in a joyful atmosphere.  He also highlighted the significance of April as a month of blessings bestowed upon Muslims in honor of the Prophet's arrival.

The Prophet's Lovers Foundation's Mawlid-i Nabi event is anticipated to be a major gathering, fostering a deeper appreciation for Prophet Muhammad's (PBUH) life and teachings while offering a message of hope and unity in challenging times.

What is Mawlid-i Nabi?

Mawlid-i Nabi, also known as Mawlid al-Nabi al-Sharif, is the observance of the birthday of the Islamic Prophet Muhammad. It is celebrated in many Muslim-majority countries and communities around the world. The term "Mawlid" comes from the Arabic word meaning "birth," and "Nabi" refers to the Prophet Muhammad.

During Mawlid-i Nabi celebrations, Muslims gather for special prayers, recitations of poetry and hymns praising the Prophet Muhammad, and lectures about his life and teachings. Festivities often include charitable activities, communal meals, and the decoration of homes and mosques.

The exact date of Mawlid-i Nabi varies depending on the Islamic calendar, which is based on the lunar year. It falls on the 12th day of Rabi' al-Awwal, the third month of the Islamic calendar, which corresponds to the birthdate of Prophet Muhammad according to Islamic tradition.

Mawlid-i Nabi holds significant cultural and religious importance for many Muslims, serving as a time to express love, reverence, and gratitude for the Prophet Muhammad and to reflect on his role as a messenger of Islam. (ILKHA)
