Philippe Lazzarini, the commissioner general of the agency, emphasized that despite notifying Israeli authorities of all aid convoys and coordinating their movements, they continue to face aggression. He stressed the imperative need to safeguard civilians and the convoys delivering crucial humanitarian aid.

Tom White, the director of UNRWA Affairs in Gaza, confirmed via a social media platform that no injuries were reported in the attack.

The incident sparked condemnation from Bahraini activist Nabeel Rajab, who denounced Israel's actions as a violation of international law. He asserted that Israel's behavior contradicts the directives set forth by the International Court of Justice.

Footage shared by UNRWA depicting a targeted truck circulated widely on social media platforms, further highlighting the severity of the situation.

UNRWA reiterated the necessity for safe and sustainable humanitarian access, emphasizing the urgency of ensuring such access extends to all areas, including the northern region of Gaza. (ILKHA)
