Iraqi armed forces condemn US airstrikes on al-Qa'im and border regions
Major General Yahya Rasool, spokesperson for the Iraqi Armed Forces commander-in-chief, expressed strong opposition to the recent US airstrikes targeting parts of Iraq.
Rasool acknowledged US attacks on Iraqi territory, including the town of al-Qa'im and near the Syrian border.
He emphasized the strikes as a clear violation of Iraqi sovereignty and detrimental to ongoing stabilization efforts.
Rasool warned that the attack could escalate tensions, dragging Iraq and the region into instability with severe consequences.
This reaction comes after US President Joe Biden confirmed airstrikes in retaliation for the death of three American soldiers in a recent drone attack. (ILKHA)
