Yemeni armed forces target British cargo ship in Red Sea
The Yemeni Armed Forces (YAF) announced that they targeted a British cargo ship sailing through the Red Sea with anti-ship missiles.
The vessel was reportedly en route to israeli-occupied Palestinian ports. Brigadier General Yahya Saree, the spokesperson for the YAF, made the announcement, stating that the naval operation aimed to support the Palestinian people and respond to what was described as American and British aggression on Yemen.
Saree emphasized that such operations against vessels heading to the occupied ports of Palestine will persist until the cessation of aggression and the lifting of the blockade on the Gaza Strip. This announcement follows a similar operation targeting an American cargo ship less than 24 hours prior, as tensions escalate in the region.
The Yemeni Armed Forces have framed these actions as part of their ongoing resistance against external aggression and in solidarity with the Palestinian cause. The situation underscores the complex dynamics in the region and the interconnected geopolitical challenges faced by various actors involved. (ILKHA)
