The Aegean Sea has become a frequent route for irregular migrants seeking to reach Europe, often risking their lives in perilous journeys on overcrowded and unsafe boats. Turkey, with its extensive coastline bordering the Aegean, plays a crucial role in intercepting these vessels and providing humanitarian assistance to those onboard.
The Turkish Coast Guard remains vigilant in patrolling its territorial waters and actively works to prevent human smuggling operations.
However, the issue of irregular migration remains a complex and challenging one, requiring continued international cooperation and efforts to address the root causes driving these dangerous journeys. (ILKHA)
