In a social media post, Erdogan stated: "I value and welcome the ICJ's interim ruling regarding the inhumane attacks in Gaza. We will continue to monitor the process to ensure that war crimes against innocent Palestinian civilians do not go unpunished."

He emphasized the ruling's significance as binding on all nations party to the Genocide Convention and expressed hope it would lead to an end to Israeli attacks targeting women, children, and the elderly.

Erdogan further highlighted Türkiye's ongoing efforts to secure a ceasefire, declaring, "As Türkiye, we will continue to work with all our strength and stand by our Palestinian brothers and sisters to establish a ceasefire and pave the way for lasting peace." This statement underscores Türkiye's strong stance against Israeli actions in Gaza and its commitment to supporting Palestinian aspirations for peace and safety.

The ICJ ruling, issued earlier this week, ordered Israel to "take all necessary measures" to prevent acts of genocide against Palestinians in Gaza and the occupied territories. While not explicitly calling for a ceasefire, it represents a significant legal development in the ongoing conflict and has received praise from various international actors.

Erdogan's statement aligns with Türkiye's long-standing position of advocating for Palestinian rights and condemning Israeli injustices. It remains to be seen how the ICJ ruling and Türkiye's continued efforts will impact the complex situation in Gaza and the broader Israeli-Palestinian conflict. (ILKHA)
