The most recent victim, Iyad Ahmad Al-Rawag, a presenter on Sawt Al-Aqsa Radio, lost his life along with several family members when their house in the Al-Hasayna area in the Nuseirat refugee camp was targeted by the Zionist occupation forces.

The alarming toll of journalists killed in the Gaza Strip over the past three-plus months now surpasses the combined global figures for 2021 and 2022. International and local data indicate that 109 journalists lost their lives worldwide during these two years, contrasting with the grim reality of at least 120 Palestinian journalists killed in Gaza since October 7.

The israeli offensive, initiated since the October 7 attack by the Palestinian group Hamas, has led to widespread devastation. The death toll stands at least 25,900 Palestinians, with 64,110 others injured. In response, nearly 1,200 israelis are believed to have lost their lives in the Hamas attack.

The dire consequences of the conflict are evident in the humanitarian crisis gripping Gaza, where 85% of the population is internally displaced. Severe shortages of food, clean water, and medicine persist, with over half of the enclave's infrastructure reported as damaged or destroyed, according to the United Nations.

As the international community closely monitors the situation, concerns grow over the escalating humanitarian crisis and the toll on civilians, including journalists risking their lives to cover the ongoing conflict. Updates will be provided as events unfold. (ILKHA)
