Turkish military reports 82 PKK/YPG members neutralized in recent operations
In a recent press briefing, Rear Admiral Zeki Aktürk, Press and Public Relations Advisor to the Turkish Ministry of Defense, provided an update on the military's activities in the ongoing fight against outlawed groups.
Aktürk focused on last week's operations, revealing that a total of 82 PKK/YPG members had been killed in both Iraq and northern Syria.
According to him, the cumulative number of PKK/YPG members killed since 1 January has now reached 2,478.
In addition, the Turkish authorities have been vigilant in combating illegal border crossings. Last week, 191 people, including members of the FETÖ, PKK/YPG and DAESH terrorist organizations, were arrested. In addition, 6,430 people were prevented from crossing the border during this period.
Since the beginning of 2024, the number of people apprehended attempting to cross the border illegally has risen to 498, with 15,153 people successfully prevented from entering the country illegally. (ILKHA)
